Capabilities

Every process
under one quote

Solis runs a vetted network of machine shops across Southern California. You deal with one person, one quote and one invoice — the work routes to whichever floor is right for the part.

01

CNC Milling

3-, 4- and 5-axis machining for prismatic parts, housings, plates and complex contoured geometry.

Up to 60 × 30 × 30 in

02

CNC Turning

Live tooling and sub-spindle lathes for shafts, bushings and threaded components in one operation.

Ø.062 – Ø18 in

03

Swiss Screw

High-volume small-diameter turning for pins, fittings, fasteners and medical components.

Ø.020 – Ø1.25 in

04

Wire & Sinker EDM

Sharp internal corners, hardened tool steel, thin webs and details a cutter cannot reach.

±.0001 in positioning

05

Grinding

Surface, cylindrical and centerless grinding for flatness, finish and post-heat-treat accuracy.

8 Ra finish achievable

06

Sheet & Weld

Laser cutting, forming, TIG and MIG welding for brackets, enclosures and weldments.

Up to .500 in plate

07

Finishing

Type II and hardcoat anodize, black oxide, passivation, powder coat, plating, bead blast and tumble.

Mil-spec available

08

Inspection

CMM reports, first-article inspection and full dimensional documentation shipped with the parts.

Engineering

No model?
No problem.

Most shops need a finished drawing before they will talk to you. Solis will start from a napkin sketch, a worn-out part or a folder of mismatched files and get you to something manufacturable.

A

Reverse Engineering

Send the broken part. It gets measured, modeled and re-drawn as a clean parametric CAD file — then made again, in the same material or a better one. Ideal for obsolete equipment and legacy tooling with no surviving prints.

B

CAD & Drawing Edits

Revisions to an existing model, drawing cleanup, proper GD&T callouts, format conversion between STEP, IGES, DXF, SLDPRT and Parasolid. Handy when the original designer is long gone.

C

Design for Manufacturing

A review before anything is cut: wall thicknesses, radii, tolerance stacks and setup count. Small changes here routinely take double digits off the part price.

D

Prototype to Production

One-off proof of concept first, then the same part scaled to a repeatable production run with fixturing and inspection built in. Same files, same contact, no re-quoting from scratch.

How a job runs

The same routing every part follows, from the file landing in the inbox to the box on your dock.

Job no. RevA Qty1 – 10K Due2–5 days
OP 10

Send the files

Upload a STEP, drawing, sketch or photo of the part. Include quantity, material and the date you need it. If all you have is the broken part itself, ship it in.

OP 20

Quote within 24 hours

A real quote from a real machinist — price, lead time and any DFM notes that would make the part cheaper or stronger. No account signup, no algorithm.

OP 30

Approve and release

You confirm the quote, material is ordered and the job is routed to the shop best suited to the part. Programming and fixturing start the same day.

OP 40

Machine, finish, inspect

Parts are cut, deburred, sent out for finishing if the job calls for it, and dimensionally checked against the print before anything is packed.

OP 50

Ship

Packed with inspection documentation and material certs where required. Local delivery around Los Angeles, or freight and courier anywhere in the country.

  • Quantity and any price breaks you want to see
  • Material and finish, or ask for a recommendation
  • The date you actually need parts in hand
  • Anything critical: a fit, a thread, a mating surface
